This month we are launching our partnership with Kipkelion District Cooperative Union. And we kick started the operations last week with an intensive five-day training and information trip.
DDFinance was organising the event along with our underwriter Old Mutual Kenya.
Kipkelion District Cooperative Union is a member-owned organisation with over 43,000 coffee farmers in Kenya. During the week we have the pleasure of meeting more than 450 of these farmers to give them information about our insurance and train them in how to use our system.
This is the first milestone in our partnership with We Effect, an NGO that has supported cooperatives in East Africa for decades.
“It is great to be out here and talk about the benefits of insurance. We have been considering working with cooperatives for some time, and the positive feedback from these farmers makes me confident that our insurance product will benefit the community.”
Through this partnership all 43,000 farmers in the cooperative gets the possibility to by affordable insurance for themselves and their families.
The insurance covers unforeseen events such as hospitalisation and death. With insurance, the families will have more financial stability and be better equipped to handle such unfortunate events.
