#ChooseToChallenge and #RaiseYourHand!

This year’s IWD theme is #ChooseToChallenge. This encourages all women to raise their  hands to show their commitment, choosing to challenge, and call out inequality. Over 80% of the people who are insured through DDFinance are female. We visited one saving group in Kibera, Nairobi. The Lindi Support Group has 13 active members: 2 males and 11 females. When we talked to some women in the group, they shared their stories and how they #ChooseToChallenge. 

One of the women told us it has been a tough year. Despite this, the Collective has boosted their savings, which again has enabled the members to start small businesses and to generate more income. That is an empowering state of mind.
